Breathing Out the Old
Breathing In the New
A Special New Years Celebration
Holotropic Breathwork Event
Dec. 30, 2019 -Jan. 1, 2020

You are invited to join us for special New  Year's Breathwork Celebration. This retreat is being held at the  historic Parker's Ranch in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of North Georgia only 15 minutes south of the border of North Carolina.

In addition to the experiential sessions of Holotropic Breathwork, we will be exploring Jungian and Neo-Jungian maps of the deep process of change and transformation; especially as seen throughout history in death/ rebirth celebrations of renewal like the all important  winter solstice, the celebrations of Saturnelia as well as other expressions such as the Christian motifs surrounding the birth/death of the sacrifical King. We will also explore the connection with our own birth process as so profoundly  explored by the developer of Holotropic Breathwork, Dr. Stanislav Grof.

The process of transition, change and  transformation can be seen in religious practices cross culturally   where the rituals of pre-modern peoples revolved around the idea of death and rebith and were especially connected to the winter solstice when the the Sun appears to reverse its decline and begin its journey of overcoming night.  This process has gone in and out of cultural awareness since ancient times  but since the pioneering work of historians such as Mircea Eliade and philosophers like Rudolf Otto and psychologists such as C.G.Jung  in the 20th century, we have come to a much broader understanding of the role of death/rebirth  experience of  in all healing processes that reach any serious depth including those of psychotherapy and religious practice.
